These wheels are suitable for street sweepers
Street sweeping machines can be found in every village and town. The use of the right wheels is essential for an optimal operation of street sweeping machines. Konijnenburg usually recommends wheels with industrial rubber tires for speeds up to 25 km/h for street sweeping machines. These are mounted in an extra weighted swivel fork with a spring element for shock absorption. Industrial pneumatic tyres or polyurethane wheels are also available. High-speed solid rubber tyres
For manned heavy industrial street sweepers it is important that the wheels can be used at higher speeds. Full rubber tyres for sweepers at higher speeds must have high elasticity. This ensures that the energy generated by friction and by driving over door thresholds and uneven surfaces is absorbed and dissipated in the form of resilience. Low-elasticity solid tyres convert the energy into heat. If a full-rubber tyre cannot dissipate the heat properly, it will heat up and the bond between the steel core or rim and the rubber tyre can be damaged. The wheel then runs off the core and wears excessively.

If a wheel is not in our range or in the standard range of our suppliers, customisation is an option. It may be that you have an existing application that you are not satisfied with. For example, you want to innovate or produce more cheaply. We apply customisation particularly when there is a specific demand for functionality. Do the wheels of your application break down quickly, for example? Then we would like to help you find an alternative. It is also possible to adapt wheels that we already have in stock to your requirements.
From inventory to suitable solution
We determine the application and how the wheels are used. We also look at the problem. Why do the wheels break down or wear out too quickly? Or are the current wheels too expensive for the application? We also ask you to send us samples of what has broken down.
Konijnenburg can provide an economic solution without having to compromise on quality and durability. This does not always require a new design process. The solution can also be volume import or specialist import. Customisation does not always have to be about large volumes. Even if you only need two or three pieces of a certain wheel, customisation is an option.
Unmanned sweepers and scrubbers
For sweeping machines on smooth floors, such as cast floors in supermarkets or tile floors in swimming pools, it is important that the wheel is free of streaks and has sufficient grip on the surface. We achieve this by roughening the running surface of the polyurethane tyre. Another advantage of polyurethane is that it is resistant to most chemicals that are used in wet cleaning of smooth floors in hospitals, swimming pools, supermarkets and in food processing.
