Moving sea containers can be a major challenge. Especially if this has to be done without the help of a crane. The NEVA sea container swivel castors developed by Konijnenburg offer the ideal solution. With the aid of heavy-duty castors equipped with a twist lock, sea containers of up to 25,000 kg with ISO corner fittings can be moved easily. In addition, the wheels ensure that you can manoeuvre the shipping container in narrow spaces.
The invention of the intermodal sea container is the biggest revolution in logistics. The standardisation of shipping containers optimised the handling and storage of cargo on ships and ashore. Today, most companies use sea containers for long-distance logistics of bulk goods.
The application of wheels for shipping containers
Container wheels are often used for various applications such as storage or as a mobile unit for transport over short distances. This makes the container wheels suitable for various applications such as:

Our range consists of three types of container wheel sets that we can supply from stock. With these wheels, sea containers can be moved up to a total dynamic weight of 13.500 kg and a static weight of 18.000 kg. Upon request, we manufacture container swivel casters that can move containers weighing up to 25,000 kg. A single swivel castor comprises one or two wheels with a cast iron core and polyurethane tread. These swivel castors offer low rolling resistance combined with a high load capacity. The number of wheels in a single swivel castor depends on the load capacity of the selected wheel set.
For towing a shipping container, we have also developed two types of collapsible towbars with a tensile force of 10,000 kg and 25,000 kg. These can also be supplied from stock.
