Wear-resistant wheels for automatic storage systems
Automated storage systems include industrial racking systems, warehouse cranes, automated reach trucks and AGVs. Our customers who use wheels for this application include forklift truck manufacturers, automation experts and warehouse racking manufacturers.
Different types of wheels
For automatic storage systems we usually use wheels with a wear-resistant polyurethane tread and for heavy-duty applications Vulkollan wheels with a polyurethane tread. These include drive wheels with keyway, hub connection, lift truck wheels and guide rollers. Wheels with nylon or cast nylon treads are also available. These PA6 wheels have a higher load capacity and static load, but are less suitable for high speeds. The hard tread also makes them noisier.
Customised
For your storage system 
If a wheel is not in our range or in the standard range of our suppliers, customisation is possible. It may be that you have an existing application that you are not satisfied with. For example, you want to innovate or produce cheaper. We make adjustments mainly when there is a special need for functionality. For example, do the wheels of your application break quickly? Then we would be happy to help you find an alternative. It is also possible to adapt wheels that we already have in stock to your requirements.
From the inventory to the appropriate solution
We determine the application and use of the wheels. We also look at the problem. Why do the wheels break down or wear out too quickly? Or are the current wheels too expensive for the application? We also ask you to send us samples of the damaged parts.
Konijnenburg can offer an economical solution without compromising quality and durability. This does not always require a new design process. The solution can also be a volume import or a specialist import. Customisation does not always have to involve large volumes. Even if you only need two or three parts of a particular wheel, customisation is possible.
Guide rolls with extra good adhesion
Recently, Konijnenburg developed its own guide rolls at the request of one of our customers. Extra good adhesion of the tyre to the wheel core or bearing was of great importance here. High speeds and frequent use heat up the metal core or ball bearing. This can cause the chemical bond between the tyre/running surface and the core to break down. Finally, with intensive use, it is important that wheels are wear-resistant.
Guide wheels from our own factory
Konijnenburg is able to manufacture guide wheels with a soft PU running surface from Bayer’s Desmodan on a plastic core and ball bearing in our own factory.
